Scottville Car Show

The Scottville Car Show continues to be a must see for classic car enthusiasts. Normally held mid-July, 2009 will mark the 20th anniversary of the Car Show, featuring vehicles from the 1930’s to the 1980’s.

The cruise begins at 8 pm, and each year the route varies. Last year, the cars traveled to Pentwater, ending up at Scottville’s Riverside Park, where the Dessert Barn provided the ice cream.

Putting together an event like the car show is not easy. The 2008 show was sponsored by the Scottville Main Street program and was chaired by Richard and Diana Cox, owners of Cox’s Sales and Service in downtown Scottville. “I do it because I enjoy it,” Richard Cox said about organizing the show. “We get involved because we are trying to help out our community. “We have been helping with community events since we started our business here 30 years ago,” Richard Cox said.

The Scottville Car Show also features live music, cash prizes and trophies for participants, street vendors and lots of food.
