Circle Rocking "S" Children's Farm
Located between Scottville and Manistee, Circle Rocking "S" Children's Farm offers tours by appointment, every weekday, rain or shine. A tour typically takes around 90 minutes, depending on the size of the group. For every five children in the group, there must be at least one chaperone. All visitors must wear slacks and covered shoes (no open toe shoes or sandals allowed). Treats such as apples, carrots, lettuce, bread, or animal feed are welcome. Visitors may give treats to the animals at the end of the tour.
To keep tours free for persons with disabilities, a fee may be requested for other groups. Reservations are required.
Blessing of the Animals, Farm Olympics and Silent Auction
The Circle Rocking "S" Children's Farm hosts its signature event: The Blessing of Animals, Fun Pet Show and Silent Auction on September 16, 2018 starting at 1pm. The event was created to honor the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures.
The public is invited to bring their pets of all sizes to a special service and blessing. This event is free of charge, and you don't even need a pet to attend!
As a safety precaution, please have all pet and/or livestock on a lead, leash, or in a carrier, cage or container.
After the services, stay for the fun! Join in the Farm Olympics, and for a $5 entry fee, compete for trophies and ribbons in over 25 classes, such as pet costumes, look-a-like, and pet talent. For humans, there is pie eating, seed spitting, bale toss, chicken calling and many more games.
All proceeds from the Farm Olympics and Silent Auction support the farm programs throughout the year. Circle Rocking S is a non-profit organization, and is in desperate need of raising $4,000 this year to cover major repairs from storm damage. The matching grant is still going on and they are $800 short....so please help!
